I am always excited to dive into a romance that has anything to do with competitive skating. My family was involved in skating for many years, and one of my all-time favorite movies is The Cutting Edge. It took me a little time to get into the groove with this one. I admit that is probably because I am old and years past my college days. Still, I genuinely ended up enjoying Nate and Anastasia’s enemies-to-lovers story. I loved seeing the dedication Nate, and Stassie had for their sports. I also enjoyed watching them both grow as individuals and as a couple. Much of the story revolves around them learning to navigate life, romance, and training while dealing with their past and current emotional traumas. While this one had many spicy scenes, it also dealt with some important issues that affect many people today. A few topics it touched on were mental health, eating disorders, bullying, slut-shaming, betrayal, adoption, parental death, and parental estrangement. It also highlighted how important and effective finding the proper help can be. I loved that Stassie was open about her years in therapy. Ultimately, I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to all my fellow romance lovers! It’s an excellent book!

𝙶𝚘𝚘𝚍𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚍𝚜 𝚂𝚢𝚗𝚘𝚙𝚜𝚒𝚜:
Anastasia Allen has worked her entire life for a shot at Team USA. It looks like everything is going according to plan when she gets a full scholarship to the University of California, Maple Hills and lands a place on their competitive figure skating team.
Nothing will stand in her way, not even the captain of the hockey team, Nate Hawkins.
Nate’s focus as team captain is on keeping his team on the ice. Which is tricky when a facilities mishap means they are forced to share a rink with the figure skating team—including Anastasia, who clearly can’t stand him.
But when Anastasia’s skating partner faces an uncertain future, she may have to look to Nate to take her shot.
Sparks fly, but Anastasia isn’t worried…because she could never like a hockey player, right?
