𝙍𝙪𝙡𝙚 by Jay Crownover totally surprised me in the best way! It’s not typically the type of book I pick up, but we are watching the movie adaptation at the bookstore, so I felt compelled to dive in—and I’m so glad I did. This book is filled with so much chemistry, angst, and emotional depth that I couldn’t put it down. The connection between Shaw and Rule is fantastic. Shaw is the good girl with a heart of gold, while Rule is the rebellious, tattooed bad boy. Their tension is off the charts, and witnessing their relationship evolve was fantastic. I loved how Rule turned out to be so much more than just a brooding guy—he has layers, and Shaw can see that side of him. The secondary characters (Nash, Rome, and Ayden) were a fun addition and made the story even more decadent. But it wasn’t just the romance that made me love this book—it was the emotional journey. The family dynamics between Shaw and her parents and Rule and his really added some weight to the story. Shaw becomes Rule’s protector, and he becomes hers, and they balance each other perfectly. And let’s not forget the steam. Rule and Shaw? Whew. There’s chemistry, fire, and some seriously steamy scenes that are impossible to ignore. The subplot with Shaw’s ex also added an edge of suspense, giving the book even more depth than I expected. This book broke my heart, melted it, and kept me flipping pages until the end. A total must-read! 🎧️Listening to the story while reading along kept me on the edge of my seat! Sophie Eastlake and Michael Rahhal did a fantastic job narrating. I was entirely captivated by the characters, and I can’t wait to start the next book in the series!
